Dear Directors & Teachers,

Welcome to the First Asia Youth Dance 2011!
Through Exchange across cultures and territories will arts excel in context…
Through Exchange over dialogues and workshops will dance perfect in styles…
Through Exchange through a platform and performances will youth develop in skills…

The Exchange is a rare platform for Young Choreographers and Dancers across Asia to network and learn from each other not just through dancing, but also through workshops on technical and production design, various dance forms and choreography. Renowned Choreographers and Stage Production Experts will provide guidance and offer advice to participants to enhance their skills and knowledge about awareness of dance.

The finale will be performances through which the participants will present their ideas, creativity, skills and knowledge in a dance form reflective of whom they are, what they see and how they feel about life, culture and dance.

The Exchange also reaches out to schools to foster a better understanding of and nurture an interest in dance among the young. This is important for developing talents to think, imagine and develop a passion for dance in Asia.

I am glad that with the professional help of Rave Group, we are able to put this Exchange into reality. This is the beginning of a beautiful journey and I do hope we can help raise the standard of dance in Asia through developing young talents, for years to come.

此次交流为亚洲各地的青年编导和舞者提供了一个难得的平台。通过舞蹈表演、灯光工作坊、舞蹈研讨会、华族舞蹈课及现代舞蹈课，大家可以相互学习交流。知名的编导和舞台制作人将会向参赛者给予指导性的建议，以提高他们对舞蹈的认识及相关的技巧。

参赛者可以拓展他们对舞蹈的认知、思维创意和技巧经他们的所见所闻所感。

更展望延伸到学校及青年团体，以培养青少年对舞蹈的认识和兴趣，同时阔拓他们的思维潜力，进而使他们对亚洲舞蹈产生热爱。
