Resolving the Challenges Faced by
Wind Band Instructors and Enhancing Their Teaching Skills
The Wind Band Seminar is a training program held once a year by the Japanese Band Directors Association (JBA), a public interest incorporated association.
Professors active at the forefront of the wind band world from both eastern and western Japan provide instruction on a wide range of knowledge, skills, and management techniques essential for wind band directors.
37th Wind Music Conductor Certification Exam
By objectively evaluating and assessing the knowledge and skills of wind band instructors, this program certifies their professional qualifications as wind band directors and promotes their further development and improvement. The certification session will be held after the lectures on the third day. Refer here for more information (in Japanese only)

Course Outline
To meet the needs of instructors, the JBA Seminar is divided into advanced, intermediate, and beginner courses, allowing participants to choose a class suited to their level.
In addition, after the lectures on the first and second days, we plan to hold a social gathering between instructors and participants (optional participation; fee: 3,000 yen, half price for students).
We hope this will be an opportunity for passionate discussions for the benefit of wind music in Japan and for the students you teach.
Masterclass (Advanced) 8 pax
This is a course designed for instructors who have been recognized for their exceptional talent and given the opportunity for further development. It provides instruction on more advanced musical content, as well as broad knowledge, skills, and management techniques for wind band conductors.
(Participation is subject to document screening/selection.)

To attend the Masterclass as a conducting active participant, applicants will be selected based on their documents (video).

Intermediate Class 100 pax
This course is designed for instructors who face various challenges in the field and who wish to study the fundamentals and applications of conducting. It offers practical and easy-to-understand instruction focusing on conducting techniques, band training methods, and score reading.

Beginner Class 50pax
This course is intended for instructors who wish to learn the fundamentals of wind band instruction.
It provides comprehensive and easy-to-understand training in basic conducting techniques, band training methods, and music theory fundamentals.
(Recommended for those from piano or vocal backgrounds, as well as teachers of non-music subjects who wish to study wind band conducting for the first time.)
